Exhibition Date Range: February 5th – April 30th, 2026
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 5th, 5:30 -7:30pm
Artist Statement:
The title reflects the history of our planet with its monumental transitions which will eventually change, once again, everything we believe to be normal life within our short time span.
The main work in the show, which will be displayed on the three passageway panels, will embrace this ephemerality by presenting three series of 12 images each which will be hung as printed sheets without frames.
Other work in the show will be hung as originally framed or in the physical form they have taken. The goal is to engage an audience in having an investigation of their own through the work of the concepts outlined above.
Artist Bio:
David Carter Lee’s creative work has been produced in phases since 1971. These include published experimental fiction, structured group improvisations that were produced as film, video and live performances and, in the latest work, conceptual-driven, photo-based investigations of the physical environment. This current body of work, begun in 2015, has been realized in books, wall displays and physical display pieces. David’s creative work has been pursued while he also worked with local media companies, including newspapers, radio groups and television stations as part of Cox Media Group. This included the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, WSB-TV and WSB-Radio as well as other Cox properties across the country. This work spanned both physical and digital eras of media from 1976 through 2017.
